WHY YOGA

I used to think that it was pretentious that people referred to yoga as their “practice.” But after thousands of lessons it finally made sense to me. There’s no end goal in yoga, no big ‘win’, no final result. There is no one exact thing to be training for. Yoga is a constant work in progress; you can continue to improve each posture, each breath, create challenges for yourself. And you don’t have to be anything to do yoga. All you need is a desire to grow and an open mind to accept the unexpected. Breathing through the discomfort, picking yourself up after you fall, and embracing every emotion that comes along is what makes us stronger, stronger in body, mind and spirit.
